Although Milk Pail market is not an entirely Russian food store, it has gained popularity among Russian people of bay area because it sells a lot of Russian products. Russians call it “Korovka” which translates as ’a small cow’ from Russian. This store is most famous for its dairy section - the selection of cheeses is just humongous plus it carries things like kefir, liquid yogurt, kolomenskiy, and tvorog. The prices are way below supermarkets’ prices, hence another reason I prefer Korovka. Their produce is always fresh, bread has a crispy crust, and you can always find some sort of an Eastern European delight for tea time.

Domino is a large Russian food store in Brooklyn, NY. It was recommended to me by a Russian food and culture guru who has lived in New York for many years. I was told that Domino has a great selection of grocery products and great ready-to-eat meals. Things like salads and pastry is something that is worth trying at Domino.

Piroshky Bakery was recommended to me by a person who used to go to the same school as I did back in Russia. She currently lives in Seattle and says that Piroshky Bakery is her favorite food place. It has calming atmosphere and home-made tasting delights, it seems like the owners put their souls into this place. Piroshky Bakery has great reviews and a well-designed website: http://www.piroshkybakery.com/
